Self guided bike tour starting from Mt. Etna and ending in Giardini Naxos

Etna Park, Nebrodi Park, Alcantara Park, Peloritani mountains. Eight days and seven nights self guided tour in mountain bike between the most important protected areas of east Sicily.

          Day by day itinerary
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 1 - Arrival at the Etna volcano refugee.
Arrive and transfer in a mountain refuge at 1700 meters. Tour presentation and dinner.

Day 2 - Mt. Etna track. (Km. 5 + 37 off road - Miles 3 + 23 off road).
Excursion at the Etna Park along the circuit that goes in altitude from south to north around the volcano. Arrival and dinner at the hotel situated in Linguaglossa Pine wood.

Day 3 - Randazzo. (Km. 48 + 12 off road - Miles 30 + 7,5 off road).
Second excursion at the Etna Park. Visit at the 2002 eruption (lava, craters and volcanic bombs). Continuation to Randazzo, medieval town. Arrive and dinner at the hotel.

Day 4 - Floresta. (Km. 4 + 35 off road - Miles 2,5 + 22 off road).
First excursion at the park of the Nebrodi Mountains. From Randazzo to Floresta (1275 meters above sea level.), the higher town of Sicily. The cheese (Provola) produced here is famous in all Italy. Return to the hotel in Randazzo and dinner.

Day 5 - Trearie lake and Maniace. (Km. 26 + 36 off road - Miles 16 + 22 off road).
Second excursion at the park of the Nebrodi Mountains, between woods and pastures in altitude. In Maniace visit at the Admiral Horace Nelson's castle. Return to the hotel in Randazzo and dinner.

Day 6 - Giardini Naxos. (Km. 48 - Miles 29).
Between one of the best production zones of d.o.c. Etna wines. Possibility of tasting in an agricultural farm, with d.o.c. wines and local gastronomic specialities. Accommodation in residence (double room) in Giardini Naxos.

Day 7 - Alcantara and Taormina. (Km. 49 + 7 off road - Miles 30 + 4 off road).
Day dedicated to the Park of the Alcantara River. Visit at the famous "gorges". Departure to Taormina between Mounts Peloritani. Return at the residence in Giardini Naxos.

Day 8 - Departure from Catania.
After breakfast, departure from Catania.
