Seven days of tourist cycling tour in 6 legs at the slopes of the Etna volcano through historical roads. Suitable to everybody, crosses roads with little traffic, but, since there are no cycle tracks, it is not recommended for boys under 12 years old.
Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Nicolosi.
Arrival and accommodation in Bed and Breakfast hotel in a small Etna village called Nicolosi.
Day 2: Nicolosi, Adrano and Bronte. (Km. 44) - (Miles 27).
Visit to Adrano: The historical centre and the Norman castle, "Simeto Gorges" and the old "Saracen Bridge". Bronte: The historical centre and the Pistachio groves. Accommodation in hotel at Bronte. Typical food of Bronte: "Pesto" of pistachios (sauce made with basil and pistachios) and pistachio ice cream (the genuine one!).
Day 3: Bronte, Maniace and Randazzo. (Km. 40) - (Miles 24).
Maniace: Visit to the castle of Admiral Oratio Nelson and to the ex-Medieval church of S.Maria di Maniace. Randazzo: A small town at the slopes of the Etna volcano, a rich and interesting historical centre of medieval origin. Accommodation in 3 stars hotel in the historical centre of the town. Typical food: Home-made bread (cooked in An oven with wood),"Provole" (kind of cheese) made in the Nebrodi and typical confectionery.
Day 4: Randazzo, Verzella, Alcantara and Giardini Naxos. (Km. 41) - (Miles 25).
The Verzella area, also called "Wine road" is the area of production for the Etna's wines. It is also possible to taste the wine at a producing farm. Visit to the gorges of the Alcantara River whose water excavated the lava. Arrival in Giardini Naxos. Cat. Young: Accommodation in small apartments with two or three beds. All the apartments have a kitchen, bathroom, telephone, air conditioner and balcony (2 nights). Cat. Classic: Accommodation at a"4 Star" Hotel, HB treatment (2 nights).
Day 5: Giardini Naxos, Taormina and Giardini Naxos. (Km. 20) - (Miles 13).
Possibility of a visit to the ancient Naxos, the first Greek colony in Sicily. Visit to Taormina, an important town of art and culture, defined the pearl of Sicily. You can visit the Greek theatre, the main streets and the churches of different ages.
Day 6: Giardini Naxos, Acireale and Acitrezza. (Km. 42) - (Miles 26).
Visit to the fishing villages of Acireale (Stazzo, Pozzillo, and S.Maria La Scala) and to the Natural reserve of "La Timpa". Acireale: Town of art, of Baroque architecture, Acitrezza fishermen's village. Accommodation in 3 star hotel.
Day 7: Departure from Catania.
After breakfast departure from Catania.
